Novelisation of the events that occurred to Dr James Rickett and his other compatriots on the small Yugoslavian island of Vis in the years 1944 through to the end of World War II. Vis was an island surrounded by a German occupied territory and was expected to fall to the Germans at any moment. The island was protected by Yugoslavian partisans and 50 commandos.
