About This Item
London: A. & C. Black, Ltd., 1918. xi, 206, (2) pages + 64 color plates. This second edition is preferred by collectors: 10 it has 64 color plates with captioned tissue guards--compared to the 32 plates in the first edition; 2) it has a 3-color decorated binding with grapevines on spine and front cover (signed with monogram, but we have not yet identified the designer). The first printing was one volume in the publisher's Fascination of Europe series. The book is in about very good condition: clean, bright, and tight, with some sporadic foxing (but not on color plates). Some rubbing of edges of cloth--worn through on a couple of tiny spots.. Second Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/No Dust Jacket. Illus. by Alberto Piso and Others. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Book.
