This map has been completely restored to museum standards. Cleaned and de acidified. John Thomson (& Co.), (fl 1814-69). John Thomson and Co. were one of the leading nineteenth century British map publishers. The firm published "A New General Atlas of the World" and continued to issue periodic updated maps for this general atlas until 1828 (editions dated 1814, 1817, 1819 and 1828)..
