St. Paul, MN: T. W. Ingersoll 30 East Sixth Street, 1880. Very good overall. American Picturesque" New Series hand colored view of the Sioux Chief and another Native American in tribal dress, beside a tipi, each carrying a tomahawk. View 3205 and title are printed below the image.
The American Picturesque series include views from around the US, including Yellowstone. Ingersoll produced some of the most remarkable, high quality stereoviews of the 1880's, and is noted for his Yellowstone views. His area of interest was the Pacific northwest, the Klondike Gold Rush, the Chicago Exposition, and Yellowstone.
7 x 3 1/2" card. Slightly dusty at card margins, not affecting images.
