From the Notebook of a Confederate Soldier. [York, PA]: Gazette Print, 1906. 1st ed. 24pp. Original printed wrappers. Minor chipping to front wrapper, wrappers separated but present, else very good. Dornbusch II, 2476 lists 1908 date. Rare, Worldcat locates 14 copies. The arrest, speedy trial by drum-head court martial, and execution of Jack Sterry, the Jessie Scout and Federal spy, who nearly defeated General Lee's tactics and procured the defeat and ruin of Jackson's corps at the second battle of Manassas.
