/font>, 1943 Book. Very Good. Hardcover. The 1943-4 copy of Jane's Fighting Ships, a popular and encyclopedic reference work on naval ships. Fighting Ships was an annual reference book providing information on the world's warships. It is arranged by nation and includes information on ship's names, dimensions, armaments, silhouettes and even photographs. John Frederick Thomas Jane, known as Fred T Jane, was the founder of this work. He was an avid miniatures wargamer and decided to catalogue all warships and armaments as a supplement to a wargame he designed. This edition is edited by Francis McMurtrie. Condition: In the original full cloth binding with bumping to the head and tail of spine as well as to the extremities. Light rubbing to the head and tail of spine as well as to the extremities. Rear hinge is strained. Front hinge is tender and may detach with further handling. First leaf is chipped with small amount of loss and some creasing. Small hole to the second leaf. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright. The odd spots to pages. Overall Condition: Good.
