The text is illustrated with two inserts, of eight pages each of black and white photographs and reproductions of documents. The last woman executed in Australia went to the gallows despite severe doubts about what part she played in the murder, the highly questionable police interrogation procedures of the time, and the controversial High Court and privy Council decisions. – Undoubtedly she died as a warning to other women of the perils consequences of deviating from the socially approved path of femininity in the 1950s – paraphrasing panel blurb. Rubbing of the book edges and panels and the remnants of a sticker can be seen to the top left hand corner of the front panel. Tanning of the text block edges and of the pages.
