Legislative record of the New York Assembly in the period of the construction of the Erie Canal and the state's official outlawing of slavery. Covers the period of the fourth year of DeWitt Clinton's governorship. At the time, New York's politicians were split in two camps: the Federalists and the Democratic-Republicans. In addition, the Democratic-Republican Party was split into two factions: the Clintonians and the Bucktails (supported Martin Van Buren and the Tammany Hall machine).
Defective, lacks title page, preliminaries; early pages ruffled, chipped at edge; text begins at p3; final leaves of Index lacking.
