Laark, a young Kraal, moves across the starwhell in the "Kristan", his lifeship, when he finds himself in trouble. He and Elam are on the lookout for the enemy Kriltons, when suddenly Elam tells Laark he must abandon his lifeship and land on the strange planet they are nearing. Laar finds himself on Earth!
