The sole UK printing published by Anthony Blond, London in 1960. The BOOK is in near Fine condition with just the lightest of rubbing to the extremities. No wrapper, as issued . Inscribed in the year of publication by the illustrator John Piper in pencil on the front end-paper: J. Piper to J. Betjeman, 10 Nov 1960 below which the author has also signed his name. The recipient was the future poet laureate John Betjeman. The book is protected in a removable Mylar archival cover. B/W full page illustrations by John Piper.
