Signed by Angelou on the front free endpage with her customary exclamation, "Joy!" above her name. Additionally, an illustrated notepad sheet with Angelou's holograph note is laid-in. "I would have personalized this book, but I couldn't translate your spelling. Joy! M. Angelou." Owner's neat ink name on front free endpage. Board topedge with faint beginiing toning (not immediately apparent). Otherwise, a tight copy in Fine condition in a Fine dustjacket with an archival cover. Angelou's first collection of poems ( many of which were song lyrics written and performed by her before the publication of her first book).. Signed By Author with Note. First Edition. Hardcovers. Fine/Fine. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
