Heavier tanning and foxing to endpapers. Binding remains firm. Hinges are cracked with exposed netting. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Gilt lettering is slightly darkened.

The boards are rubbed, edge worn and marked, and the spine dis-discoloured, however, the gold gilt remains bright and cheerful. Internally, the front and back end pages are very tanned. There is foxing throughout the text, but the pages are whole and complete. The binding remains tight and strong. A charming little book for its age. JV. K.. The red cover is benevolent. The gilt titling is clear. Spine is sunned. Within, the contents are occasionally foxed. The pages are clear, certain, confident, thick and benign. fk. Gilt Title on spine is rather dull; original cloth repaired, recoloured and replaced on top of repaired boards with new eps. A few sheets of the book were water damaged on front lower corner; occasional very light water stains are barely visible, nowhere extending into the text. xii plus 266pp incl index. Very Rare. The Jeppes were a prominent S African family of German extraction, having a Street, Schools, a Suburb, & a Sports Club in Johannesburg named after them. INCLUDES a short family history. M.S
