The author noted on his arrival in Kansas that certain regional qualities were reflected in the architecture of Kansas, especially in the older buildings. He began the study of churches first covering from the Indian Territorial Period to the Centennial year of 1876. The churches built in this time frame show how early settlers solved the practical and aesthetic problems of church building. The buildings described stand on their architecture and not any sentimental or historical association. A clean very presentable copy.
