James Allen Lane's novel A Kentucky Cardinal illustrative of the culture and dialects of his native Kentucky, here published together with its sequel Aftermath, originally published respectively in 11894 and 1895. This the first edition thus, beautifully illustrated both in text and in full page by noted artist Hugh Thomson. In the original publisher's full cloth binding, with gilt embossing to front board and spine, gilt to edges. Externally smart with shelf wear, spine and boards lightly bumped, minor darkening to spine, gentle cocking forward of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Light odd spotting to odd leaf, otherwise pages bright and clean. With illustrations by Hugh Thomson. Very Good
