A bright first American edition/first printing in Very Good+ condition in alike dust-jacket with light edgewear; In 1933, Edward VIII became the king of England after his father, George V, died. He was a popular king, but in 1936 he abdicated in order to marry American Wallis Simpson. When World War II began, he enlisted in the RAF, but was dismissed for being unfit for service. He then married Simpson, but the marriage was annulled in 1947. In the late 1940s, he became involved with the American socialite, Christine Keeler. In 1963, he was convicted of adultery and sentenced to prison. He died in 1972.; 8vo; 552 pages; FSA .
