With foreword written by Nabokov in 1967. Review copy with publisher's original review slip loosely inserted. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall

Synopsis

Originally written in 1928, it was translated from Russian to English by Nabokov's son in 1968. The novel is the story of well-to-do Dreyer, who has a lovely but terriby cold wife, named Martha.  Bored, manipulative Martha plots to make a lover of Dreyer's nephew, Franz, when he comes to work for Dreyer in Berlin.
