Hard-to-find history of Kingston, Rhode Island, once the capital of Rhode Island, home to several silversmiths, a stronghold of abolitionism and the site of the last hanging in South County. This history goes beyond the facts and figures into folklore, sketches of local characters and more. Illustrated in black and white. Inscribed on the front pastedown: "Marti, who gets the first book I've sold!! Christian McBurney, August 5, 1975". Red cloth lettered in gilt, 106 pages, printed dustjacket. Book is about fine with just a touch of wear at the spine ends, good hinges, firm binding, clean pages. The mylar protected dustjacket has some uneven fading and a bit of light creasing on the back, no chips or tears. . Inscribed by The Author. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
