About This Item

New York: Riverhead Books, Penguin Group,, 2003. Octavo. Original black cloth backed boards, green paper to sides, titles in silver. With the dust jacket. A fine copy. First edition, first printing, presentation copy inscribed on the title page "To Penny, thank you for your kind words... best, Khaled [additionally signed in Farsi], 6/17/03". Also includes a hand painted "The Kite Runner 12/04" bookmark laid in. The Kite Runner was Hosseini's first novel and runaway best-seller - copies personally inscribed (rather than just flat signed) and in the year of publication are hard to come by.

The Kite Runner is a novel by the author Khaled Hosseini. Published in 2003 by Riverhead Books, it is Hosseini's first novel, and was adapted into a film of the same name in 2007.

Author creates atmosphere that is tasteable. Imagery superb and action moves at a great pace. Highly readable. Once I had read it, I went in search for everyhing else Hosseini has published.
