With one line of text inside which reads "a line of thin pale red" and another which reads "translation of a line from Chenier". Fine condition. Not dated but likely from around 1989. 3 3/4 x 5 1/2" tall.

Printed on the inside rear cover is the following" Proposal for a postscript to "The Present Order" (stone: with Nicholas Slaon: 1983). Each sentence to be cut on an unworked block of stone selected at the quarry face. Ian Hamilton Finlay, Little Sparta, 1991." Very good copy. Scarce Finlay ephemera. One copy noted in WorldCat.

A slender artist book collaboration between Hamilton and Raw. 4 pp printed on rectos only. A very good example. The inner pages are shorter and narrower than the printed paper covers which tends to lead to small creases at the edges of the covers. Also,, this copy has a crease on the rear panel. Still, a decent enough copy of an uncommon title.

No text other than title card plus the definition of the word Swatchway which means "a channel across a bank, or among shoals". The remainder of the book is comprised of movable cardboard swatches (not dissimilar to fabric swatches). Very light wear. A near fine copy. Only 5 examples shown in WorldCat.
