Brown, Son & Ferguson, 1939 Vg. no dj. bright blue boards with gilt detailing - but sunned to spine. some rubbing to corners. no inscriptions. contents very clean tight and bright. 24.3 x 16.3cm. 193 pages. b/w photos. Boscombe Down, a large airfield on Salisbury Plain - one of the most closely guarded and secret places in GB during the war years of 1939-45. The '30 Years Rule' has allowed many wartime secrets to be declassified, thus archives of Boscombe were released. Here some of the fascinating work of the A&AEE including the investigation into the mysterious losses of early RAF Halifax bombers.
