Arabic text printed from movable type, the font cut by Anton Von Mammer & commissioned by Tauchnitz for this edition. Text printed in black within red borders, some decorative. Attractive contemporary bindng of full red morocco. Boards with elaborate decorative gilt tooled borders. Spine fully decorated and lettered (using the same style of lettering as the text) in gilt. Skilfully rebacked with spine laid down. Gilt inner dentelles. Green coated endpapers. All edges gilt. Light waterstain to the bottom outer corner margin of the text pages, not affecting the text and not too obtrusive. Binding corners a bit bumped and lightly bubbled to the bottom outer corners but overall this is still a very good copy of this beautifully printed and rare edition, in a pleasing early leather binding. Flugel's text was the standard until the 1923 Cairo edition.:
