Description:
Lancaster, PA: Boswell & M'Cleery, 1835. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. This book was "Translated from the Arabic - with notes taken from the most approved commentators. To which is prefixed A Brief Memoir of Mahomet". Printed from the Third London Edition, with an interesting Preface written in Lancaster, PA. Written on a rear end paper is: "Leonard F. Sanford, Pumber, Peru, U S Consulate April 1859" . Written on the inside of the front cover is: "C. F. Winslow Presented by Capt Gresham Howes of the Ship Emma C Tonn at Pasta July 1863. My translation of the above names is questionable - research is needed for clarification. Most of the first free end paper had been removed - there is some writing on the remaining portion which I cannot decipher. 16mo, 288pp. full leather, spine & rear cover surfaces worn.
