New. 22 x 28 cm. “KUSUMANJALI” is a collection of research papers which is being offered as floral tribute to the memory of the great Indologist late Sh. CALAMBUR SIVARAMAMURTI. All of us have learnt very good lessons from this great savant. It was, therefore, thought a few years ago that we should make an offering of research papers in the form of a Felicitation Volume to Sh. Sivaramamurti. The international response to our invitation was over-whelming. Alas, this Felicitation Volume could not be offered to Sh. Sivaramamurti during his life time. The felicitation volume has, therefore, become a Commemoration Volume. When I met Sh. Sivaramamurti and mentioned to him our intention to present a felicitation volume, he said, in his inimitable way and with all sincerity, that he has been a student still learning and whatever he has been able to do in dispersing the knowledge of our ancients was only due to the ‘Karuna’ and ‘Blessings’ of God through the great Paramacharya of Kanchi Kamakoli Pitham. He was, therefore, reluctant to give his consent for the felicitation volume. He however, on persuation agreed but on one condition that I should meet the Paramacharya and obtain his blessings. This I was able to achieve later and the Paramacharya’s blessings are recorded separately in this volume. Unfortunately, for various reasons, the volume could not be completed as per schedule. But we the admirers of the Simple and Great Sh. Sivaramamurti feel his presence around us and no day passes without remembering this great sould. It is therefore, with sincere and respectful feelings that this volume is now presented to the scholarly world in commemoration of Sh. Sivaramamurti. We sincerely hope that inspite of the delay and also printer’s mistakes that have crept into the volume, the scholarly world will take the kernel of knowledge which the research papers contain in them and, with the appreciation of the spirit with which we have been able to produce the volume, forgive us for the human errors. I am grateful to all the contributors for their ready response and also for patiently waiting for the production of the volume to offer their regards to Sh. Sivaramamurti.
