About This Item

New York: Labor Action Publishing Co, 1952. Twenty Five issues: 8 pages, weekly newspaper of the Workers Party in the U.S. Tabloid folded in half. Very yellowed throughout, shelf and very edge worn, else good condition. The Workers party represented the 1940 split from the Socialist Workers Party taking most of the intellectuals and students with them. Now called the Independent Socialist League it remained active in the labor movement most notably on the East Coast and this is reflected throughout. Continued coverage of the McCarthy period repression, Korean War, etc. Among the writers, in addition to the editors listed above, was Susan Green, Conrad Lynn, L. J. Smith, Henry Judd, more.
