Dark brown cloth covered boards with brown leather spine. Gilt lettered title on the spine. Boards are edge worn. Leather rubbed along the joints, corners and head and base of spine. Light to moderate scattered foxing to the contents including the illustrations. Contents contain several literary articles, stories, history, etc. but little information on the Civil War.
