A lightly handled copy with some dust soiling in a dust jacket with some chips and tears and darkening. A fascinating peak behind the curtain of life as a first lady, these records of events from Lady Bird Johnson were kept throughout the five years and two months of Lyndon B. Johnson’s presidency. Bonnie Angelo (1924 - 2017) was an American journalist who covered Robert Kennedy’s last campaign in California for Time magazine where she served as a Washington correspondent from 1967-78. In 2000 she wrote a book called First Mothers: The women Who Shaped the Presidents.
