Small oblong 16mo (2-3/8 x 3-7/16 inches). A souvenir and reminder of the early days of the summer cabins on Lake Winnepesaukee in New Hampshire. A humorous story told in verse: five friends, Lu, Jim, Kid, Jule, and Harry, have taken a cabin for the summer, fishing, feasting and drinking beer. One of their number drinks too many beers in an attempt to drown his sorrows after a fishless day. The following morning, hung-over, he wanders into the brush and encounters a bear (according to him). The bear goes one way the man another, but despite a thorough search no further sign of the bear is found during the following day, and by evening doubts are cast on the hung-over fisherman's version of events: "Are you sure your bear wasn't a mule?" Rare: no other copy recorded.
