About This Item

Philadelphia: The John C. Winston Company, 1918. 1918 Copyright, printing unstated. VERY GOOD. No dust jacket. A well-preserved, intact copy, the only marking is a neatly penned inscription on the front free endpaper, "Robert - from Grandpa Dec 25/25." Light finger spottings to page margins, four leaves with shallow chip to top edge, pages otherwise fine. Firmly bound in maroon cloth hardcover titled on a color pictorial pastedown on front board. Cover is clean, the pastedown very attractive, lightly rubbed with small chip to lower right corner; spottings to rear cover. Hinges and binding firm, intact. A charming text, reminiscent of Billy Goat Gruff with a touch of Little Red Riding Hood. Right hand pages delightfully illustrated in color (tints of blue, green, brown and black) by Frederick Richardson. 5-3/4 x 4-3/4" (oblong); 32 pages. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. Illus. by Richardson, Frederick.
