Black quarter morocco over marbled boards with four raised bands and gilt titles to the spine, marbled end-papers. Condition very good, ex-library, the Bibliotheque Guille-Alles in Guernsey with their labels to the spine and front paste-down and stamps to half-title and front end-paper, no other markings. Corners edges and hinges rubbed, a few spots to first and last 14 pages, pages a little toned else contents very clean. Text is in French. The History of The Book and Printing, with 221 engravings - both full-page and in-text - reproductions of illustrations/titles/frontispiece etc in early books. Including beautiful full page full colour frontispiece reproduction of an illuminated manuscript page of George Chastelain offering a book to Charles the Duc de Bourgogne Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall
