The Land of Heart's Desire,was produced spring 1894 at the Abbe Theatre and ran for over six weeks.In the winter of 1912 Yeats made many revisions and was reprinted in book form,which was then acted for the first time February 22nd,1912 at the abbey Theatre,Dublin. The Countess Cathleen,was acted in 1899 in Dublin and caused an uproar,citing blasphemy because of the language of the demons and the character Shemus Rua used,agitated by Catholic students' petition,clergy,politicians and newspapers.After the performance,Yeats added a love scene and in that form it was revived in New York,a complete revision followed,making it suitable for performance at the Abbey Theatre,Dublin.
