A series of books, of which this is number 1, first published in 1929. A look at the people and places around the world. Very out of date now, but interesting nonetheless as the photographs show a world that was, not is. This book looks at the world of The British Isles, France, Spain and Portugal along with the islands of the Mediterranean with a small section on the UN.  Rubbing to the back strip edges, book panels and book corners. Age toning of the text block edges and to the end page maps. Foxing to the first few and last few pages of the book.
