Handsomely bound in full black calf with embossed cover corners holding a gold-ruled panel with stylized gold thistles in each corner. Spines have four raised bands, five compartments, four decorated compartments. Page edges are marbled, matching the marbled end papers. Slight wear to the corners and hinges of Vol. I, which appears to have had a repair to the head of the spine. The front hinge of Vol. I is cracked but holding.
