There appears to be a missing blank endpaper; the present copy has one blank endpaper followed by half-title page, frontispiece and title page. Otherwise, binding is very tight, pages are clean and unmarked. It appears unread. . Includes 8 plates which depict 17 b/w photos. This is a classic environmental book, scarce as a hardback first edition. Arthur Carhart, the first author, was an early leader in the wilderness movement, an environmentalist and conservationist. The book gives an historical account of the extirpation of all wolves from Colorado. . 8vo 8" - 9" tall. 295 pages. F6 .
