Vol VI: No.1-12 (June 15-Dec 1, 1845) [4,204pp]. Vol VII: No. 1-12 (Jan 1-June 15, 1846) [4, 204pp]. Vol VIII: No. 1-11 (July 15-Dec 19, 1846) [4, 180pp]. Rebacked with brown leather spine & corners over original tan boards. Gilt lettering on spine. Text is clean & intact except for a brown stain on first few pages & lower corner torn on leaves 177 & 179 of vol vii, not affecting text. Free front endpapers are partially glued to fixed front endpaper. Tan board are scuffed & worn. Front & rear covers & first & last gathering of leaves have an indentation. A small note on rear endpaper. The Latter-day Saints’ Millennial Star was the longest continuously published periodical of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, being printed in England from 1840 until 1970. College library book plate on top paste down, and a few inked numbers on end leaves. Inked name on first title page. There are a few neatly ruled dark red underlines in text, as well as a few very early marginalia. Otherwise, both works remain clean and intact.

Text, however, appears complete and sequenced appropriately. There are 25 full page steel engraved illustrations, in addition to the highly decorated, illustrated title page.. Small modern book plate on front paste down. Older inked notations on title page and rear paste down, as well as a few small marginalia. Bookworm trails affecting lower gutter and margins of about twelve leaves near rear of book. Some text is minimally affected. Later inked "Hoyer" on spine. Volume remains tight, and is otherwise clean. Illustrations are good.

Ignatius Kohler was located at 202 N. 4th St., the address in the imprint, from 1860 to 1879; WorldCat records assign 1869 to this title. Each page contains a hand-colored woodcut with a parable; text is entirely in German. Very scarce. In Good- Condition: cover is heavily finger-soiled; lower edge of back cover dampstained; text block separated from cover; finger soiling throughout; minimal dampstain at lower edge of some leaves; hand-colored woodcuts are clean and bright.
