Ontonagon country is in Michigan's Upper Peninsula and it borders Lake Superior and this is the story of its native Chippewa Indians, fur traders, prospectors, miners, lumbermen and later settlers; it is also home to the Porcupine Mountains. This is the stated "Copper Country Edition" with a 1965 publication date, but also with an introduction by the Ontonagon County Historical Society dated 1987. Original green cloth publisher's covers with gilt spine and cover lettering. This is a nice clean, tight and unmarked book with no interior or exterior markings, no previous owner names and no bookplates.
