Originally known as Bald Eagle, this is the pictorial history of Lecompton Kansas, Douglas County named after Federal Judge Samuel LeCompte. Lecompton gained fame as being the Capital of Kansas for a short period during the Bleeding Kansas days. This photographs in this book cover the early days of the town, its businesses, residences, churches, schools, and graduation class photos. A clean very presentable copy.
