FIRST EDITION WITH HAND COLOURED PLATES, 1814, 6 volumes, complete set, French text. 12mo, approximately 135 x 85 mm, 3¼ x 5¼ inches, 83 of 84 HAND COLOURED plates, LACKS PLATE at page 189 in Volume II (Colonnes de granit) plus 2 LEAVES in the same Volume (185-188) possibly a binder's error as there is no sign of removal, 6 frontispieces, 5 folding, and 21 double page plates, some tissue guards missing. Pages: [4], i-xvi 1-202, [1]; [4], 1-226, [1]; [4] 1-254, [1]; [4] 1-206, [1]; [4], 1-249, [1]; [4], 1-269, [3]. half-titles present, bound in full green calf, marbled endpapers and edges. Rebacked using original worn chipped spines with some loss of original leather, all inner hinges strengthened with green binder's tape, small brown stain to margin of 3 plates, not affecting image, pale offset to some plates, occasional pale foxing, mostly to tissue guards, pale handling marks in the margins of plates, otherwise a good tight set (lacking 1 plate and 2 leaves of text as noted).
