Harrington House, St. James’s Palace, 26 February 1832. 4 pp. 9 x 7 inches, folds, in good clean condition. Sir David Davies (1793-1865), domestic physician to King William IV (from 1830), and to Queen Adelaide (from 1837). He was knighted by Queen Victoria at St. James’s Palace, 19 July 1837. “I lose not a moment in acknowledging the receipt of your very handsome Present for which I sincerely thank you & Mr. Bird. I know it will be a treat to the King. I have therefore dispatch’d my servant with it to the Kitchen with an order for it being well dress’d & served up this very day before his Majesty. I shall not fail to drink your health & I am sure the King would do so also if he knew you.”
