Octavo; 90pp plus ~ 65 full-page plates of safes & vaults on which experts have experimented detonating explosives, with illustrative diagrams. A Near Fine copy burgundy cloth ruled in blind and letterd in gold at spine.The United States Commission on Safe and Vault Construction was appointed in 1890 'for the purpose of reporting the best method of safe and vault construction, with a view to renewing or improving the vault facilities of the Treasury Department.' Treasury Department Document No. 1664.
