The seven years of letters of George Prideaux Harris, Deputy Surveyor-General of New South Wales from 1803 to 1812, provide, along with his papers and sketches, a dramatic and poignant account of the hardships of life in the fledgling colony. Colourfully illustrated soft cover with white titling on front, black titling on spine, signed by editor on title page, black and white illustrations as well as a four-page cluster of colour plates, 158 pages. Cover has minor edge wear, shelf wear, upper spine end is bumped resulting in light creases to both front and back covers, creases to free corners of front and back cover, light crease to centre of front cover, some pale spots of discolouration to text block edge, interior is clean and tight.
