New York: Brentanos, 1904. Reissue. Hardcover. Fine. 24mo. in grey paper covered boards over brown cloth spine with paper title lable. Frontispiece engraving reproduced for the 1808 edition. xv+133 pp. with bibliography of other English appearances of the work since 1681. Near fine, couple tiny nicks to the front cover and upper right tip. The letters were first published anonymously in 1669 and are believed to have been written by the Comte de Guilleragues, a friend of Racine, though for a couple centuries they were believed to have been actually written by a nun in a convent in Beja, Portugal.
