This is the third edition of Barrett's book, and is in three parts: The first part was prepared for the press in 1860The second part was prepared in 1864 to include much of his administration and The final section written in 1865 to include his final year in office and his subsequent assassination. We believe that this third edition, being the most complete, is the most historic of the three publications. Its full restoration in half bound leather makes it a true collector's choice.

Condition: This third edition of Joseph Barrett's book in three parts, including the final year of Lincoln's life, is a real beauty in half leather. It has been fully restored in a period binding with the original spine re-applied beautifully. The interior has aged end pages and has typical foxing, with original illustrations and frontispiece with original tissue guard.
