Prior owner bookplate to blank front free-endpaper. Otherwise, apart from slight to moderate age toning, a very good copy - clean and unmarked - in a moderately soiled, chipped and edgeworn dust jacket which is nicely preserved and displayed in a clear archival Brodart sleeve. ~W~ [2.0P] Cesare Borgia (1475-1507), Duke of Valentinois, was an Italian condottiero (military leader), nobleman, politician, and cardinal with Aragonese and Italian origins, whose fight for power was a major inspiration for The Prince by Machiavelli.
