Good solid binding, clean text throughout. Two titles bound in one volume. CHICHELE: Fine engraved portrait frontis (by M Burghers.) Expanded, first English language edition (originally published in Latin in 1617.) ESTC R236 (Wing D2430). WHITGIFT: Fine engraved portrait (by R. White) In two parts. Part 1, by Paule, was originally published in 1612 as: The life of the most reverend and religious prelate John Whitgift, Lord Archbishop of Canterbury (STC 19484). Part 2, 'Conspiracy for pretended reformation' by Richard Cosin, was originally published in 1592 as 'Conspiracie, for pretended reformation' (STC 5823). Part 2 has separate dated title page and pagination; register is continuous. ESTC R1659 (Wing P878). Two rare 17th Century works on Archbishops of Canterbury, excellent condition and in a very attractive later binding. Overall condition is Very Good Plus. Size: 4.5 x 7.25 inches (12 x 18.5 cm).
