Privately printed by the New York Life Insurance Company, 1927. Hardcover. Very Good. Undated (c1927); first edition; 8vo; pp. [6], vii-xvi, 1-434, [2]; 3/4 red morocco and marbled boards; gilt decorations and title to spine with 5 raised bands; some wear to edges of spine; small closed chip to head of spine; corners rubbed; roughly cut fore-edge; pages clean; overall in very good condition. Signed/inscribed by Darwin Kingsley on first free page. Darwin P. Kingsley was president of the New York Life Insurance Company in the early part of the 20th century. He was known, among other things, for inventing and implementing new types of insurance. An interesting fact of these times was that civil rights leader Susan B. Anthony was one of their first female policy holders.
