Boston and New York: Houghton, Mifflin and Company, 1896. Not stated. Hardcover. Good/No jacket. Two volume set, illustrated with black and white plates, some tissue protected. Volumes XIV and XV of Holmes's Works. Mostly biography with most of the existing letters of Oliver Wendell Holmes. Blue cloth binding with burgundy title blocks on spine and gilt titles and borders on spine, gilt top edge, blue end papers. Some light edge wear, corners and spine ends a bit bumped, a few scratches on covers with some spotting, wear to title blocks with some chipping and some damage to titles, former owner's bookplates on front fixed end papers, a little spotting of end papers, light tanning of interior pages, bindings tight, except one piece of tissue detached and laid in.
