It is the very epitome of the entire Christian faith - the soul of the spirit that has moved the world. The original text was bought from the family of our third President by the United States in the late 1800's and published for the first time in 1895. Jefferson did not publish this labor of love during his lifetime because he was "averse to the communication of my religious tents to the public." Rather, he treasured it for the spiritual solace of himself and a few friends. The original Material was extracted textually from the Gospels, together with a comparison of his doctrines with those of others, and, w/Jefferson's religious views. The original Material extracted textually from the Gospels, together with a comparison of his doctrines with those of others, and, w/Jefferson's religious views. This is, in regards, Jefferson's attempt to remove supernatural aspects of Bible to further clarify Jesus' doctrine. "Thomas Jefferson's mission was leadership. Without an effort on his part, expressions from his lips, that from other men's would scarcely have attracted notice, became thenceforth axioms, creeds, and gathering-cries to great masses of his countrymen." - Henry S. Randall. 132 pages. Insured post.. First Edition. Hardcover. Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Book.
