The Life and Voyages of Christopher Columbus / A Tour of the Prairies.

by Washington Irving

Condition: See description

Philadelphia, PA John Wanamaker, 1880. Hardcover Very Good: shows moderate wear to the corner tips, where the leather has just started through to expose the board beneath, but the upper rear corner tip is more heavily worn; overall light wear to extremities; some scuffing at the top of the front quarter-leather panel; moderate overall rubbing; faint darkening to the fore-edge and bottom edge; very faint dampstaining at the backstrip and the red morocco quarter leather panels, and at the bottom edge, but the text block is unaffected. The backstrip very lightly blanched, but the titles and gilt designs thereon remain bold and clearly legible. The binding leans ever so slightly off square, but remains perfectly secure; the text is clean. Free of underlining, hi-lighting, notations, or marginalia. Free of creased or dog-eared pages in the text. Free of any ownership names, dates, addresses, notations, inscriptions, stamps, plates, or labels. A handsome copy, structurally sound and tightly bound, showing moderate wear and minor unobtrusive flaws. Bright and Clean. NOT a Remainder, Book-Club, or Ex-Library. 8vo. (7.75 x 5.5 x 1.45 inches). 878 pages. Quarter Red Morocco with raised bands and gilt designs titles to spine and leather reinforced corners and Lovely Marbled Boards and Endpapers. Top Edge Gilt. Publication date is approximate; it is part of a "Irving's Works" set, most likely from the late Nineteenth Century. Language: English. Weight: 1 pound, 11 ounces. Hardback: Quarter Leather with Marbled Boards.
