New York, New York, USA: Little, Brown and Company, 1989. BY5 - A hard cover first edition withdrawn ex-library book in very good condition with a dust jacket in very good condition. Stated first edition with a sequence of numbers appearing on the copyright page with the "1" present with no additional printings indicated. A tight, clean, sound copy in light gray paper covered boards quarter bound in textured brown paper with gold lettering on the spine with very minor overall shelf wear with some very, very light edge wear along the front bottom board edge plus there is some glue staining on the front and back fixed endpapers from where the dust jacket was glued to the boards plus there is a glue patch on the front free endpaper from a library pocket plus there are the usual library marks, stamps, and labels on the front and back outside paper edges, the front fixed and free endpapers, and the copyright page. The dust jacket shows only very minor overall shelf wear plus it is still in the original library mylar sleeve. The fourth collection of short stories by a noted novelist and short story writer. This collection is marked by the author's sensitivity and humor. The author is a winner of an American Book Award.
