Dust jacket: Long diagonal tear to front cover with old tape repair to reverse, wear to edges, soiling to rear cover. Unclipped. Preserved in a removable jacket protector. Overall jacket condition is Fair Plus. Book: Blue cloth binding. Heavy foxing to page edges, patches of foxing to text. Inscribed and signed by the author to front free endpapers: 'To H. Wilkinson, the author sends his best wishes and warm thanks for the memories of happy years spent together at N.S.Y., H M. Howgrave-Graham, January 1948.' Also included is a hand written letter to Wilkinson, also signed by the author. Howgrave-Graham was Secretary of the Metropolitan Police from 1927 to 1946. Overall book condition is Good.
